Denon AVR 1907

I've always had no less than 100 watts/channel of Sony's, Pioneers and Kenwoods except for a 55-watt Luxman in my lifetime .... among these, not one compared with it's power (and does not clip and turn off on home theater full blast) and the best sound I've heard so far .... this was after i removed the former unit powering my 5.1 home theater system running Polk Audio towers, Bose center and rear satellites and a Vidsonix subwoofer ... Harman Kardon sounds great too but is much more expensive compared to Denon ...

My Denon is still running 5-stars to date! I've read the other reviews but if my receiver is exactly like theirs, the difference might be in the surge suppressor I wired it into to protect all my home theater investments. To date, I upgraded my screen to Amazon's/Tiger Direct's 73-inch DLP and Denon is still my orchestra despite presence of a similarly-powered Harman Kardon now.

Dead on arrival

| This seems to be a common problem among Denon recievers. After I spent an hour hooking it up, it had no display light. Nothing would light up AT ALL, So you had no idea what buttons you were pushing. My buddy got a better model and he had the same problem. I love denons, but I would recommend buying one in a local store, not online. It took 3 weeks for a refund. |
Denon done gone Dead!

I purchased brand new Denon 1 year, 10 months ago. It's high-end model, with many more features than I was looking for. However, it came highly recommended.
It's performance was quite good, though the volume control required much more travel than a regular model. The sound quality was superb ... that is, until it
suddenly died totally and completely a few weeks ago.
Have searched online, wondering if others have similar experience. Yes, appartently, there's an internal fuse that requires removing from cabinet to access.
Thus far, I haven't faced the tedious task of extracting the Denon from the entertainment cabinet - where the fit is ever-so-tight. Then, there's the total
tangle of wires that the installer did. Oh gosh... so wish there was someone convenient to remove, fix, and return to service.
Most likely, I'll purchase a lesser unit that hopefully has better reliability and value for the price. |
